Date Day, Date Night

Happy Monday! Can you believe that it's already June 19?? The summer is just flying by!

Michal works at 12:30 every day and my schedule changes day to day- but it's so nice when our mornings line up and we can  take some time for a day date.

Friday morning was the opening day of a really amazing little cafe just down the street from our apartment. It's the second location of an already favourite cafe of ours- Anchor Coffee House, so naturally, Michal and I got up early and walked over. We were, perhaps, a little too excited- we arrived about 15 minutes before they were scheduled to open, but the owner kindly opened the doors for us and chatted with us while he finished getting ready for the big open. I had a pour over and a vegan banana date cookie, while Michal enjoyed a cappuccino and an english toffee scone. We usually make our coffee at home, so it's a really nice treat to go to a cafe once or twice a week for a morning date.

We walked back home, planning on going to yoga or for a bike ride, but ended up packing up our laptops and heading to another nearby cafe, Shway Shway. We enjoyed some lentil soup, a Mediterranean breakfast plate, and (a lot) more coffee.

That evening after work we met up at a wine bar just down the street and shared a really great bottle of Tempranillo and a delicious veggie pizza (with all my favourite toppings of course- zucchini, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes and truffle oil. Yes please!).

We love our neighbourhood so much- it's so easy for us to walk or bike everywhere we need to go. Sushi restaurants, burger joints, dive bars, cafes- even grocery stores and yoga studios all within walking distance.

What do you love about your neighbourhood? Do you have any favourite spots you frequent?
