Weekend Fun / Farmer's Market

The farmers market has always been my favourite part of summer. I used to run a booth there- selling vegan baked goods and other treats. It was always so fun to be a part of the market community- arriving early in the morning to set up, joking with other vendors, meeting so many interesting people I might not have otherwise met. It wasn't possible for me to do it this summer- I often work on Saturdays, and it was just so much work that even when I have a Saturday off, it's too much. Maybe some time in the future I'll be able to do it again, but I'm happy to visit the market as a customer instead, for the time being. And so, on Saturday morning, we donned our backpacks, hopped on our bikes, and headed to the market bright and early.

The weather was perfect- sunny and warm but not unbearably hot just yet. We picked up some totally perfect local raspberries, juicy strawberries, asparagus (please, can asparagus season just last forever??), cucumbers, fresh caught pickerel, and of course, some of our favourite locally roasted coffee.

Sunday was even better- we spent the day with family: eating outside, swimming, playing euchre, even getting a little wedding planning done. It's hard to believe that our wedding is just less than four months away! So exciting!

I hope everyone has a good week- before we know it it will be the weekend again, I promise! Here's some tunes to get us through this (hot, hotweek, will you dance along with me?
